Many people try to lose weight by eating less at night. Which is not effective most of the time. Because later it gets hungry. That is why the possibility of overheating increases.

It is beneficial to choose low carbohydrate-rich grains to avoid this problem.

According to a report published on a nutrition website, eating grains at night helps in weight loss.


Oats are rich in a fiber called beta-glucan. It absorbs a lot of water. As a result, the stomach is full for a long time. Oats are rich in antioxidants known as ‘avinanthramide’. It helps to keep the heart-healthy. Generally, nutritionists recommend eating this grain if you want to lose weight.


High in fiber which helps in digestion and reduces the risk of gallstones. The beta glucons in barley combine with bile acids to lower ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol levels. Also, it helps reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and increases insulin secretion.


Corn is a good source of antioxidants. It contains Vitamin B, Magnesium and Phosphorus. Corn is low in calories. So it can be eaten at any time when hungry.

Corn chutney can be easily made for dinner.

Boil the corn, add water and store in a bowl. Then add onion, cucumber and tomato. You can add salt, black pepper, chaat and spices to enhance the taste.

Brown rice

It is difficult to find a Bengali who does not like to eat rice. And you can’t skip rice at all, but it’s good to get in the habit of eating brown rice.

Brown rice is less starchy than white rice. It contains phytic acid and polyphenols which help in lowering blood sugar levels.

For dinner, you can eat a small amount of brown rice mixed with vegetable curry.
